My 2025 Word of the Year

Yesterday our family enjoyed our annual year-in-review dinner where we go out to eat and discuss favorite moments, lows, great books, newly tried foods and more from the year prior as well as dream about the year ahead.

When my daughter asked about 2025 resolutions I shared that God had placed a word on my heart often in recent days that felt more a purposeful calling than one isolated action.

And so it is that my 2025 Word of the Year is PURSUE.

I've not selected a word of the year in seven years. I don't do it from habit but from the direction in which I feel led. Sometimes it is a word. Sometimes a Bible verse. Sometimes a specific resolution. Sometimes nothing at all. Each is part of authentic living and all are okay.

Why pursue?

~ I want to PURSUE the heart of God. I've experienced dry bones come alive and I know the joy found in discovering for myself the unfolding dream God has for me. This can only happen with full reliance.

~ I feel inspired to PURSUE completing book two this year. While this feels like an aggressive goal, I know it is possible with commitment. Thank you for your support of my mother/elementary daughter Bible Study. Book two is one that nurtures faith formation for everybody and I can't wait to tell you more about it when the time is right.

~ I feel driven to PURSUE connections with more faith-filled parents/caring adults and ministry leaders. Hearing that you are finding support through my products and consultation energizes me, but this requires seizing engagement opportunities and dedication to future product development.

I know none of the ministry I was called to can happen on its own. It requires being fueled by the Lord and my foot on the gas. But, I will continue to pursue all He has for me with humble prayer that it blesses all of you.

Happy New Year, friends!

xx Melissa
