This morning Ava woke up asking to make Bird Nest Easter treats. I first did these with her when she was in elementary school and she's never forgotten. They are a crowd-pleaser and the simplicity of the recipe allows for quality communication time while making them, so it was an easy yes for me.

If you are looking to make something fun for tomorrow while relationship building with the people you love, here is the recipe (using the Olives + Thyme haystack base).
You will need
~ 11 oz butterscotch chips
~ 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
~ 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
~ 12 oz chow mein noodles
~ Eggs candy (suggestions include Whoppers Robin Eggs, Brach's Malted Milk Eggs, M&Ms Peanut Pastel Eggs, etc)
To Make
~ Line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
~ Combine the butterscotch chips, chocolate chips, and peanut butter in a microwave safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds and then stir. Return to the microwave for 15 second increments - stirring after each time until the mixture is fully melted and smooth.
~ Stir in the chow mein noodles. Mix until all noodles are well coated.
~ Use a spoon or small ice cream scoop to spoon nest onto the baking sheet. Press centers in slightly.
~ Place in the freezer for 15-30 minutes.
~ Add three eggs to the center of each nest
ENJOY the treats and have a very blessed Easter. We have hope because He chose to die for our sins and then rose from the grave so that we could live in the promise new life. There is no greater gift.
xx Melissa
